Bringing History to Life

Hi folks, Jon Wennstrom here! This week our fourth grade students gave presentations during the "Living Wax Museum". This was the culminating event for weeks of reading, researching, and preparing. One of the many things that I love about this activity is that the students get to pick who they research and they decide what they put into their presentation. Yes, they have a guideline and format to follow, but they also have a lot of choice and freedom. It's learning activities like this that students remember for many years. My guess is that most of these students will be able to tell about their historical figure for the rest of their lives. I'm so happy that our Rosedale students have opportunities for activities and events like this and I was proud to see so many family members here for the event as well. Thanks to our fourth grade team for bringing history to life for our students!

Meet the LPS Staff

Julie Linn - Principal of Hoover Elementary

I enjoy leading our Hoover Rocket staff and students on their educational journey. This is my 7th year as the principal at Hoover Elementary School. I worked as a Teacher of the Speech and Language Impaired in LPS for 14 years at a variety of schools.

I have been married to my husband Jeff for 20 years. We have two children Griffin (13 yrs) and Sydney (9 yrs). We enjoy cheering for MSU, watching our children participate in sports and spending time with our animals. We have a small farm with Clydesdale horses, pigs, rabbits, turkeys and cats.

Five words that describe Hoover: Fun, Caring, Hard Working, Supportive, Dedicated.

Did you know that our 4th grade students raised money to help the Muscular Dystrophy Association for their "Youth Making a Difference" project? With the help of the PTA, Ms. Guerriero, and all the Rosedale students, they had a "Hop-a-Thon" to raise funds for this worthy cause. Last week, we were able to give a check to the MDA for over $2000!! It sure made me proud to see how hard the students worked on this project. Great things are happening at Rosedale!
