Positive Post It!

Hi folks, Jon Wennstrom here! This week for our "Celebrate Monday" assembly, we filled out positive post it notes. Every child and every staff member received a post it note with one simple instruction. Fill it out with a positive message and leave it for someone in the building. It was truly powerful to see the students filling out post it notes and even more powerful when doors and desks were filled with positive messages! Research shows that people that express gratitude are not only more happy, but more successful in achieving their personal goals. Take a moment to ask your child who they gave a positive post it note to and also take a moment to express your gratitude for someone special in your life. It will feel good and make someone else's day too!

Teamwork

Hi folks, Jon Wennstrom here! Anyone who has participated in sports knows the value of teamwork. People learn to work together to reach a common goal. They encourage one another, support one another, and push one another. At school it's the same thing. We at Rosedale have grade level teams, achievement teams. curriculum teams and many others. However, the most important team is the team between school and home. In order to help each child succeed, we need to work together as educators and parents to inspire and encourage our children. Thanks for being a part of our Rosedale team and working toward our common goal...student success!

Celebrate Monday!

Hi folks, Jon Wennstrom here! This week we started a new tradition at Rosedale. A weekly assembly to start the week off on a positive note, remind students of our three to be (respectful, responsible, and safe) and be inspired. We are calling the Monday morning pep talks, "Celebrate Monday" meetings. After watching a short inspirational video, we talked about ways we can start the week off right. Students gave answers like "Share a smile, give a compliment, and do your best". That's a great way to start every week and how we plan to finish out the rest of our school year. So when Monday rolls around every week, ask yourself and your child, "How will you Celebrate Monday?".

Students and Staff Enjoyed the Red Wings Assembly this week!
