Hi folks, Jon Wennstrom here! I recently shared that this may be my 26th year in education, but in many ways it feels like "year one". With all the changes, new protocols, and fluid nature of things, it's really a new beginning for all educators and families. I've made a vow to stop using the word "unprecedented", but it's true we've never experienced situations like this before. With so many unknowns, I prefer to focus on what I do know. I know our dedicated team at Buchanan will do whatever it takes to meet the needs of our students whether through remote or face to face learning. I know our students will do their very best and are eager to return to school. I know our families want what's best for their children and that working together, our Buchanan community will rise to this challenge. Whether this is your first year at Buchanan or you've been here for many years, let's make it a great year...together!
The PTA offers parents, caregivers, staff, and community members the opportunity to have a voice in matters that affect our children's education and to help make Buchanan Elementary the best possible school for our children. Get Your Public Library Card!
The Livonia Public Library is working with Livonia Public Schools to get all students a public library card! It is simple - you only need to fill out a single Google Form! With this library card, students will have access to ebooks, audiobooks and more that they can access from a Chromebook, a desktop or laptop, or through an app on a phone or other mobile device.
You can view the form here and complete it now: Get Your Public Library Card! You will need to fill it out once per student.
We ask that if your student already has a library card, you still fill out the form so that we know which of our students have access to these resources. Please have your student(s) watch the video with you - they can meet the public librarians!
