I've Got You!

Hi folks, Jon Wennstrom here! For the past two weeks, I've been busy conducting evaluation meetings with the Buchanan teachers. It's an exhausting process, but one that is designed to help each teacher reflect on the year, what they've accomplished, and develop plans for future growth. Author Beth Houf summed up in her book "Lead Like a Pirate" what I feel about evaluations.  "Feedback should never be a "gotcha". It should be an "I've got you!". My job is to help teachers grow, give encouragement, and support them as they work to continually improve their craft. So for all the incredible teachers I have the pleasure to work with each day, "I've got you!"

As the end of the school year approaches, please note that there will be changes implemented beginning Monday, June 3, 2019 that will run through Friday, June 14, 2019.

Students will not be able to charge their lunch purchase if they do not have money on their account.  Students will not be able to charge against their account and pay later, they will have to have funds in their account to buy lunch or receive a cheese sandwich. As a reminder, the cost of hot lunch is $3.25 for a regular lunch and $.40 for a reduced lunch.  You may add money to your account by visiting www.mypaymentsplus.com and once there you will also be able to review your student's purchases.

  

This does not impact those students that receive free lunch.

For those who did NOT order school yearbooks, we will have a limited number of extra copies available for sale in the office on Monday, June 10 from 8:45-9:15 AM. They will be sold on a first come, first serve basis for $20 (Cash Only).

Did you know that we had a tremendous turn out for our Spring Fling? Thanks to our PTA and volunteers, we were able to put on a night of fun and excitement for our students. From inflatable bounce houses to incredible basket raffles, it was a night to remember. Great things are happening at Buchanan!
